Our dogs both love these bones. We have Golden Retrievers and they can chew through almost anything. This is the only bone our dogs cannot bite into pieces and swallow. It does wear down the teeth, but our vet said thier teeth look great, other than being a little shorter. I would highly recommend this bone, but only for powerful chewers/larger dogs.

For a first novel the author did well in addressing conditions of inequality in a method seldom seen. I did enjoy this book though I felt the characters could have used more depth. It was a touching work, nevertheless. I am a born Southerner and though I’ve lived in a variety of areas of this country, I’ve been back in the South for the last 30 years even though the vast population of bigots, hypocrites and racists is frightening. Civil rights issues still need to be pursued aggressively particularly during this horrid time in our country when there are those who are working very hard to do away with everything FDR accomplished. Don’t let them do that, please.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that I truly loved (probably not after A Thousand Splendid Suns). I really really liked this book. Couldn’t put it down once I got into it. I love Minny’s character (what she does to Hilly was just too funny…I had to re-read that part several times, just because I was laughing so hard). What I like about this book is that it doesn’t just portray the bad & the ugly about relations.. it does have good stories about the help and their employers. For instance, Stockett touched on how black people were lynched, shot, abused – verbally & physically, how afraid they were of the white folks, but she didn’t dwell on it too much to bring the reader down. If Aibileen got mad about something Miss Hilly or Miss Leefolt said, Stockett would balance it out by showing the deep love between baby Mae Mobley and Aibileen. It is very apparent that relations were complex between the blacks and whites living in the South. The former weren’t slaves, but they were definitely oppressed emotionally so that they couldn’t aspire to be anything more than hired help.

I loved one line in the book where Aibileen tells Minny that the lines between people are only in their heads, created by people themselves, a long time ago to segregate themselves from others by class, race, color and sex. That statement is very powerful. In a way, although we have come a very long way from where we all were 50 years ago, I feel that those lines still somewhat exist today…it’s not apparent, but is camouflaged under the term “equality of all race and sex.” Racism is condemned, but it still exists in certain people’s minds. Women are considered equal, but there are chauvinistic men out there who are very threatened by powerful women. So reading the Help has made me think of how life was like back in the day, the complexities, the hardships, and also comparing it loosely to what it’s like today, how far we’ve come, and how much further we have to go to completely eliminat

I can add my review to the five-star ones–this product stays in place on my dash and is a little smaller than I thought it would be, which makes it easy to store. The window mount our Garmin came with started unexpectedly falling off, but we don’t have to worry with this.

I say this is the second worst movie ever made because I actually sat through the whole thing whereas I finally turned off “Play It to the Bone” in the last fifteen minutes. Of course, when I was watching “The Postman”, I had just had oral surgery and wasn’t much into moving.

Nevertheless, this movie is bad. Imagine a post apocalyptic Pacific Northwest. Think of an odd marriage between an Ewok village and rejects from the cast of “Road Warrior”, and you will get the basic feel for the setting of this movie.

Kevin Costner finds a bag of undelivered mail and a postal uniform and inexplicably begins to deliver the mail. He becomes a hero to the people, now caught in a struggle between bad guys that look like they didn’t make the cut for “Road Warrior” and are still upset, and the good American people trying to make the best of their brave new world.

Radiation poisoning has sterilized men, so naturally, a local woman and her husband ask Costner to try and impregnate her. He obliges them, but the would-be stepdad is killed two scenes later signaling a romantic interest for Costner.

This postal service is propped up by Costner’s lie that the US Government is starting to reform and get itself together, and soon, a bunch of villagers, including the token funny black kid named Lincoln Mercury, are delivering mail.

Perhaps the only amusing part of this movie is Tom Petty, playing himself, his post apocalyptic career being the head of a peace loving community. The only reason this is amusing is because I am a huge fan of Tom Petty’s, and someone who isn’t will not even care.

Not only is the acting horrible, the plot stupid, and the characters difficult to like, but this mess drags on for a very long time. If you want a good post apocalyptic movie, get “Road Warrior” and “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome”. This Costner effort makes “Water World” look like a timeless classic, and when you are through watching it, you will conclude that you sat through it at all because it’s ju

In this book you will find nothing but OPINIONS! There is no sound doctrine whatsoever in this book! Again I wish to iterate again, again, and again until I am blue in the face, we live in a culture that allows homosexuals to marry, abortions, etc…this book is a synopsis of our Laissex-faire attitude towards our christian beliefs! So in my OPINION, it will only go down hill from here until an “Old Time Revival” breaks forth. So till then, prepared for more of these so called “New enlightenment crap”. I suppose if your head is in a hole and you want to really know where we stand spiritually here in America, read this book to truly comprehend where we are headed.
