Matters of the Heart

This maybe the fastest bullet made for Nerf. The bullets are streamlined and has the least wind resistance. It has the smallest tip. They work best on the clips with the Recon CS-6. They also work on the Maverick, the one with the 6-shooter rotating barrel, which I think is one of the best guns made by Nerf.

Unfortunately, it will not work with the one-shooters such as the EX-3. I was a bit baffled why it won’t since the bullets share the same diameter, inside and out, with the rest. What I found out was that the hole in this particular bullet is shallower than the other bullets. Probably to counterbalance the lighter tip. If you press the orange foam just below the tip, the foam is solid and not hollow. This prevent the bullet from going inside the one-shooter all the way in the barrel.

Using them on clip guns, there is also an annoying problem of jamming, squashing and chipping. This is more of a problem with the guns instead of the bullets. But still, it shorten the life of the bullets as well as ruining accuracy.

Initially purchased this vacuum to replace the toy I had been using. The suction on this vac is so strong that it really does pull itself along when you use it. After using for a few days, I had one sent to my mother. She has used many vacuums in her day, and she was wowed by this one. Believe the reviews, this product is really a great buy!

I bought it for $22, at the beginning I was afraid I was going to get something different, because as you can notice the average price is $50, but I got the original and completely new Furminator brush for just $22.

I bought this vacume 4 years ago and it’s still working great. My daughter liked mine so much she bought one. I tell my grandkids this vacume has so much suction it would suck them up. They laugh,run and jump on the couch when I vacume. I have carpet and tile and 1/2 of my house is hardwood floors. It works GREAT on all of these. For bridal gifts this is what I give.

Amazon had a great price on Windows 7. I think it’s best to keep current with the latest operating systems. So far I haven’t discovered all the neat things it does, but it seems to be efficient and working well.

“The Help,” by Kathryn Stockett, is remarkable in that she captures the sound and cadence of Missippi in the same sense that some musical people have perfect pitch. Additionally, “The Help” is as good an example of literary pacing I have ever read. Stockett’s timing, between highs and lows, danger and calm, simply keeps the pages flapping.

I avoided other reviewers’ problems with dialect since I heard the audio version and did not have to stumble over the oddly spelled words. There were four readers, which is unusual in an audio book, two with perfect black Mississippi accents, and two with perfect white Mississippi accents. Other reviewers thought that many of the characters were cardboardy. But since I am old enough to remember the attitudes towards civil rights, many of the social aspects attributed to white society strike me as being true. Inflexibility of some of the characters does not make them carboardy but makes them true to the times.

After finishing this book and learning that more than 50 agents rejected it, and only a new imprint agreed to publish it, I began to wonder what’s wrong with our book industry, especially since more than 425,000 copies have been sold in a year. But then again, this is the same industry that rejected “The Shack,” and dismissed “The Hunt for Red October” as being too technical.
