Floss Game Mental Trivia suck

Doesn’t live up to the magazine. I love the Mental Floss magazine and blogs. I am a huge, huge fan. I was super excited to get this game. So, believe me when I say that this game is just not that good. It’s not challenging, and two adults can complete Mental Floss Trivia Game in under 15 minutes. I know this because every time I’ve played it, it’s taken only that long–and I certainly don’t mean that my friends and I were just so smart that we got through it quickly, I mean that it’s just a very, very quick game. A game this quick is just not that fun to play. Some of the questions are moderate to difficult, but the vast majority have really obvious, simple answers that don’t challenge the players. Easy, dull questions combined with a laughably short playing time mean that this game will not be taken off my shelf very often, if ever again. I considered giving it two stars, but I’m just so disappointed that Mental Floss would market this game that I had to knock it down a star.

Mad about The DVD Game Ice Age:

great game. My 5yr old daughter also loves this game. She has left her Princess game to get dusty and only plays Pet Pals. Her 7yr and 2yr old brothers try to sneak turns on it, too.

Hello Game Sequence

Great Game!. We had played this game with some friends visiting from out of town and liked Sequence Game so much we ordered our own after they left. It’s great to keep the mind challenged. Pieces are made well and the board itself is well constructed. Cards are not thin to get bent up easily. Impressed with quality of it and the fun is exceptional!

Crazy on Learning Game Funny Resources Family Phone

More complicated than Learning Resources Funny Phone Family Game should be. The Funny Phone had the potential to be an awesome toy. Such a neat concept. In reality, it’s kind of complicated. The phone talks a LOT which burns batteries and can bore the kids who just want a clear command or prompt to keep the game moving. There is also a whole bunch of dialing you have to do in this game. First you dial a 7-digit number from a list that connects you to one of 10 different places you may want to call (toy shop, library, pizza place, etc). There’s an answer on the phone, which is usually very silly, and then you have to dial again a number between 0-9 to get the actual challenge. You do the challenge (pretty easy), then dial again to check if you answer was correct. If so, you can get rid of one of your tokens by feeding it into the phone’s mouth (the player who first gets rid of all their tokens wins). Then you move on to the next player and again, a bunch of dialing ensues with a lot of talking by the phone. I wish the phone would talk less and there would be less dialing. As it is, there is not so much for the kids to do in between.

That said, so far my kids do love the Funny Phone (they just got it yesterday so it is a novelty for them). My kids are 3.5, 6 and 8. They don’t really want to follow the instructions of the game (for the afore-mentioned reasons: the game doesn’t have a good flow) but love just dialing the numbers and getting responses. I also see them using it as a regular phone toy (pretend calling friends etc). It’s a colorful, attractive toy and seems to be durable. As a GAME, it could have been designed better. I also shudder to think how many batteries it will burn in the long run.

Should YOU get it? Why not, but not for full price. I got it for ten bucks and am pretty pleased with that deal.

Get Life of Game now

Bring back the old Life!. Noticing how my board game collection did not include Life, I went to buy it. Much to my dismay they had changed the game. This game includes cards in which came be switched around between players and little cards in which you receive $50,000-$200,000. It all just seemed way too easy. I used to love Life, one of my favorite games. I never play the new game it’s no fun. Funny, I still find myself browsing the game aisle looking to see if they changed it back yet…

Think of Trouble Game Board ?

Nice Game For a Small Child. I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas 2006. She was (still is) 5 years old.

She enjoyed playing the game. I think this game is good for teaching competition, numbers, and good sportsmanship.

The only thing my granddaughter had trouble with is the bubble in the center. Hard to push. Mom had to help. That’s why the 4. I am not sure how that part is going to turn out.
